Meet the Owner

Lady Esther is the owner of Little Tots Playcare. The center was inspired by many of the educators in her life that have supported her which led to the birth of Little Tots Playcare in 2021.

She has worked in the field of education for many years. Lady Esther is currently a Family Nurse Practitioner and owner of Mercy Pediatrics in Naugatuck, Connecticut. She is the first black woman to own a pediatric practice in the town of Naugatuck, Connecticut, and a mentor to many young women in her community.

In her spare time, she loves to travel and meet new people and is very hard-working and dedicated. Lady Esther is married to Pastor Randy who is very supportive in running all operations at Little Tots Playcare in New Haven, Connecticut and they have four children together.

She believes that at Little Tots Playcare every child deserves a chance to thrive, grow, and be supported in a safe, nurturing, and caring environment while collaborating with families to support them with all their needs.

As a team, we must utilize all efforts to build the future generation of children as they are an integral part of our lives. Little Tots Playcare stands firm on the belief that all children are important as the future of this world is in this classroom today.

About Little Tots

Little Tots Playcare (LTPC) began offering its services in 2021. The purpose of the school is to make available an enriching preschool program for six weeks to twelve years old, before and after school programs.

Little Tots Playcare’s mission is to serve young children by providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that enhances self-esteem and promotes problem-solving skills, and fosters healthy emotional, social, physical, language, and intellectual growth.

Our program helps build a community of active, engaged learners and families. As teachers, we plan learning experiences and our curriculum based on our observations of children’s ideas, interests, and abilities; our conversations with young children; our knowledge of child development; and professional early learning standards established by the NAEYC and CT ELDS.

We have a center-based classroom and ample time to explore it each day. Children move freely from center to center, making choices about where to play and which materials to use. As they play, they negotiate with peers and solve interpersonal problems.

The center activities and materials are designed for children to participate in varied content areas such as literacy, math, science, art music, sensory exploration, and small and large muscle development.
